The Story Of an Elephant

Story of An Elephent

Since childhood, I have been listening to Motivational stories which teach us great moral values. One of these stories was told to me by an entrepreneur in a conference in Dubai.

The Elephant Rope

A bag back traveler travels to a village in Africa for non-profit work. While he was visiting the village, He came across a large compound where he saw a lot of elephants. What was so shocking for him to see was, all the elephants were tied with just a rope to one of their legs and the villagers did not use cages or barricades to keep the elephant. They just used a Rope and tied it to one of their legs… By seeing this he approached the village leader and asked regarding their assurance of the elephants not breaking out of those ropes.

The Village Leader informed him how they were able to contain the elephants in these techniques.

It is simply the leader said

“When they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The reason why the Elephant never tried to break free is that they never tried as they believed they cannot.

Moral of the Story
