Best Ways to Spend Your “Me-Time”

Me-Time

We all are guilty of ignoring our well-being and health. That, in turn, affects your performance in all spheres of life. Fixing some time and labeling it as ‘me-time’ each day is the least that you can do to make yourself feel rejuvenated, both physically and mentally. If you have already set some dedicated ‘me-time’ then think of better ideas to make it quality time. Among all the things that you attend, your family, home, office, and so on, we can’t emphasize enough the need for taking care of your own self. For different people, there are different relaxing activities. Most of the people find the best relaxation while indulging in a nice, entertaining show on TV or online. That’s exactly why a few days back, I got the subscriptions to TV and the internet.

I’ll be honest. I used to be against spending time in front of a TV or on the net. However, my stressful job changed my mind!

So here I am! Yes, on the internet, writing a blog!

I’m going to suggest some less practiced activities that can easily lift your mood, sweep aside the stress, and of course, relax your tired nerves. Instead of considering any expensive and fancy activities, read on to find how some regular, simple activities can serve as the best ‘me-time’!

Get ready to unwind.

7 Tips to Enjoy Your Me Time

1. Take a Nice, Hot Bath

While you are reading the first suggestion, you must be thinking that what could be relaxing in this hygienic drill that you do every day! Well, it may sound simple but if done right, it is one of the most relaxing and easiest me-time activity. Immerse yourself in a warm bathtub with some nice bath salts and let your body relax in a long soak. You can light some nice scented candles and play some soothing music.

2. Get a Massage, Preferably with Aromatherapy Oils

Essential oils are known for their unlimited benefits since ancient times. They are also known to reduce stress and for their quintessential soothing effects. Take some time out to pamper yourself with a facial massage once or twice a week. A body massage can help immensely in relaxing you. Go for Rosemary or Eucalyptus oil to relieve stress. If you have temper issues, opt for Jasmineor Sandalwood oil. Choose a Bereavement, Vetiver, and Frankincense oils to energize yourself and to lift your mood. Other than the massages, you can go for a nice manicure and pedicure too. They also involve minutes of massage. You will end up having a better sense of well-being and rejuvenated nerves.

3. Eat a Healthy Meal and Take Supplements

Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein can give your body the necessary nutrients to function correctly. Additionally, taking supplements can support your digestive and immune health. By prioritizing your health during your me time, you can feel confident that you’re taking steps towards keeping your overall well-being. Whether cooking a healthy meal at home or enjoying a quiet moment, incorporating healthy habits and supplements such as a feminine probiotic can help you feel your best and support your body’s natural processes.

4. Read a Nice Book

If you are someone who has to take care of young toddlers after you are back from work while taking care of the home chores, it is particularly hard for you to have some me-time. When was the last time you actually had a good read? Utilize the naptime of children to unwind with some good reading. It is relaxing and it provides an escape from the stressful routine. Grab a nice book that interests you and curl up on a comfy couch to enjoy some nice reading time.

5. Enroll in a Pilates or Yoga Class

Consider enrolling in a weekly Pilates or Yoga class for some sheer relaxation and an essential plus of staying in shape. Yes, we totally agree that you have a packed schedule but making time out once a week won’t hurt. You can even do it at home if hitting the road takes too much effort. Use a DVD or stream the moves of your favorite Yogi online. If you manage to squeeze in for a work out class, you can experience reduced stress levels.

6. Enjoy a Steaming Cup of Tea

You probably do this every day, twice a day. But perhaps you do it while running around, attending to the mess in the house. You can easily turn this tea-sipping routine activity to a ‘me-time’ activity if you just sit down on your favorite couch (in my case the egg-swing in my garden). Enjoy every sip and let your mind enjoy the relaxing warmth. Plus, the phytochemicals in black tea are known to reduce stress levels immensely. Dedicate 15 minutes each day, preferably between breakfast and lunch, or a couple of hours before dinner to enjoy a nice cup of tea.

7. Go Shopping

Indulge in a mini shopping spree. Go to your favorite store or mall and spend some time window-shopping. Pick something nice in clothing, accessories, home décor, or anything that you like. Shopaholics will agree to the fact that while shopping you actually tend to forget everything and every one and you simply enjoy looking at your favorite stuff.

Alternately, you can spend a good hour while you browse and order your favorite stuff online. That’s call retail therapy! And the best there is! If you haven’t got an internet connection, I suggest you subscribe to one now. However, do thorough research about the various subscription packages first. A good starting point would be to get in touch with the internet customer service numbers. Once you are set, you can look up things online with undivided attention without listening to a firm, ‘are we done?’ from your partner!

That is if you have got one…
